Editorial

Food styling for editorial work is where I get to be really creative as there isn’t as strict a brief as for advertising. I get to cook lots, following recipes, which is nice. My food styling for books, magazines, calendars and recipe cards is quite relaxed and homely so that the food speaks for itself. Of course it still needs lots of care and attention to look amazing, but it needs to look natural and real too. I also have fun here with prop styling (that’s a whole other story) and get to work in gorgeous locations also.

I worked for over two years on features for Food & Wine Magazine. Last summer was turned upside down and into Christmas putting together the first issue of Superquinn's Savour Magazine, of which I was associate food editor.

There’s nothing like getting stuck into working on a new cookbook for piling on the pounds either. Gastronomic feasts have included Kevin Dundon’s ‘Full on Irish’, Neven Maguire’s ‘Family Food’ and 'Homechef', 'Cooks Academy', BIM's 'From Tide To Table’, ‘The Yellow Door Cookbook’ and more recently Rachel Allen's new cookbook 'Home Cooking'.

I hope you enjoy the samples of my editorial work.
