RecipesA big part of me being a Food Writer involves writing actual recipes. Whether for a book, magazine, newspaper, leaflet or website, I will start with a clients brief. A recipe then develops from here. I take inspiration for my writing from obsessive food reading, my world travels, watching TV, experience from working with top chefs, spending a large portion of my life in food stores, and of course regular eating.
Having written a recipe, I will put it through a rigorous test to make sure it works, tweaking it if necessary and of course tasting it to make sure it is out of this world (a perk but also a calorific hazard of the job!).
Recent work includes developing, testing and writing recipes for Food & Wine Magazine. I worked as Associate Food Editor on Superquinn’s Savour Magazine. I have recently finished working with Rachel Allen and Neven Maguire on their new cookbooks.
